repairing
Reconciliation is a continuous cycle of sin-repentance-restoration. It is a process and journey that I travel daily. It is initiated by God, paid for by Jesus and received by me in obedience. It has elements of purity, brokenness and mending.
In this piece I show the contrast of light and darkness, brokenness and healing Biblically, most references of darkness to light are presented as images of redemption.* Figuratively, light is a symbol of understanding and darkness of ignorance and the blindness of walking out of Gods path.* Here we see the darkness broken, separated and invaded by a red thread, visualizing the work of Christ, sent by the Father into the darkness to mend my brokenness and to rescue me from the power of darkness, making friends again with my Father which then allows for repairing relationships with my neighbor.
This piece, of course, is simplistic, as anyone knows the work of reconciliation is hard work and requires humility and a willingness to be mendedits a mutual partnership. I pray I will always be willing to come when God initiates His rescue from a broken relationship and ignorant acts of selfishness.
