Interwoven Watercolor and red thread 12” x 12” (Sold)
In Hebrews 11 many heroes of faith are mentioned whose stories help make up the books of the Bible. We are given examples of Cain and Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Isaac, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jepthah, David, Samuel, Daniel and other characters who have journeyed in and out of trials and challenges over thousands of years. Each found their faith in God as the overcoming factor of perseverance. This piece speaks of the interweaving of those heroes as well as the fabric of my own life. I endure darks, lights and even underlying neutrals along my journey. Challenges and joys are all threads that make up the whole. The red thread speaks to my need for Someone greater than myself to give me strength and endurance in facing my challenges and joys. The thread is left hanging as if to say the fabric is not yet complete . . . there is more weaving to do. The heroes were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised on earth. So is my journey by faith; trusting in the promises of scripture, walking alongside Christ who interweaves his redemption throughout my life.
